That’s the problem I’m here to solve. Measurement is not a topic in science — it is the foundation of all science. Without trustworthy numbers, there is no chemistry, no physics, no medicine, no engineering. Every discovery in human history rests on a measurement someone trusted.

Curiosity is the first instrument. Before the caliper, before the thermometer, before the balance — there was a person who looked at the world and asked “how much?” That question is the beginning of everything. I will never let it feel like a stupid one.

Every person deserves measurement literacy. Not just scientists and engineers — everyone. The patient reading their blood pressure cuff, the parent checking a fever, the shopper weighing produce — they are all depending on calibrated instruments they know nothing about. That gap is a problem I intend to close.

The metrology profession is one of the most important and least recognized careers in the world. Every accredited calibration lab, every NIST-traceable standard, every ISO 17025 certificate represents skilled human work that keeps civilization precisely calibrated. These professionals deserve recognition — and the profession deserves a pipeline of young, inspired talent.
